GRAFTON, Mass. - A ski trip sponsored by the Grafton Recreation Department was briefly detoured by an electrical fire onboard its chartered bus this afternoon.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which took place around 3 p.m. in front of the Worcester Street Stop & Shop.

"It was a small fire," Recreation Director Betty Wright said. "A few parents came when their kids texted them, but the trip will go on."

The driver was alerted to the fire by smoke and pulled over onto the side of Worcester Street. The blaze was quickly extinguished.

The bus, chartered from AA Transportation of Shrewsbury, was carrying Grafton Middle School students to Mount Wachusett for their weekly ski trip. A second bus was sent to bring the students and the out-of-service bus will be toweed back to Shrewsbury.
