GRAFTON, Mass. - A Library Building Committee has been named by Town Moderator Ray Mead -- but what that project might look like, as well as the town's support, remains unsettled.

Mead said Thursday that he has appointed Caroll Westgate, Julie Grace, Andrew Deschenes and Tim Fitzpatrick as members at large; Brook Padgett as the Board of Selectmen's representative; Doug Bowman as the Library Trustees representative and Dave Robbins as the Planning Board representative.

Representatives will also be named from the Finance Committee and Historic District Committee, which have not chosen their representatives.

The Grafton Public Library Board of Trustees last week received an extension for the $5.1 million dollar grant originally awarded in July 2011 for a 29,000 square foot expansion of the library Thursday, after a meeting with the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

While the town voted to move forward with funding the $11.7 million project at last October's Town Meeting, voters overwhelmingly voted against the library at the Dec. 13 special election.

Trustees have not announced an alternative plan.

The first meeting of the building committee will be Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Center.
